After the world's number one badminton player Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei's biographical movie releases in cinemas this March, another biopic on a Malaysian athlete – this time focusing on professional track cyclist Azizulhasni Awang – will be made.

Azizulhasni said that he not only wants to share his success through this movie, but to also recall his journey as a professional athlete.

"There are a lot of things that I would like to tell that hopefully will encourage people to never give up and strive for your dreams even if it seems impossible.

"My success did not come miraculously because I too experienced a rough start like the time when I was in Dungun (Terengganu), I almost got hit by a lorry on my way home from practice," he told BH Online.

Azizulhasni, also known by his nickname The Pocket Rocketman, was admittedly touched when the idea of his own biographical movie was pitched to him with hopes that the upcoming movie can inspire people regardless of the sport that they are interested in.

The biopic will be directed by Raja Mukhriz Raja Ahmad, who claims that pre-production will take up a lot of time to make sure he has gathered enough facts from Azizulhasni's life story before choosing the best ones to portray.

When asked about actors who could potentially play the role of the cyclist, the acclaimed director has not made his choice yet.

The ThreeSixty Management, UniTalent Sdn Bhd, and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) co-production will cost RM6 million and is expected to be released some time in 2019.
